What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Assistant SV position at Smith Village?
Full Time Hourly Position
Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
Job Duties include:
- Assures all new admission information is entered into the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintains accurate and up to date daily census.
- Facilitates resident background checks, contracts, OBRA screenings and other required data entry; tracks completion for each new admission.
- Maintains accurate vaccination status in electronic medical record.
- Maintains current email/contact lists for residents and their families.
- Provides resident and/or family a copy of the latest resident rights for long term care booklet.
- Assures confidentiality in relation to resident medical records and strictly adheres to resident rights and ethical boundaries.
- Handles initial inquiries from potential residents and family members via phone.
- Facilitates tours of the facility for parties interested in skilled and short term rehab.
- Ensures nursing is notified about all new admissions and is provided pertinent records before admission.
- Ensures rooms are up to standards for a new admission; puts in work orders to correct any issues with rooms.
- Serves as telephone operator, receiving business and residential calls and routing them appropriately or taking messages when needed.
- Serves as a watch-guard for wandering residents so that they do not exit the building.
- Serves as a central information center for residents and their families, providing information about the community or pertaining to personal needs/interests expressed
- Distributes materials to leads, community leaders, hospitals, etc., as needed.
- Provides “active listening” for residents and families directed at problem identification and solution.
- Must be flexible with schedule. Work alternate days of Admissions Director. This may include weekends and evenings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
