Synopsis:
We are looking for individual with a good organizational skills and an attention to detail to assist in general clerical tasks and assisting in our office either e in Honolulu or Kapolei.
Who We Are:
Akamai Practice Management develops software and provides billing services to Hawaii's physician community from our offices in Honolulu and Kapolei. We are well respected by the local medical community and work with about a third of the independent physicians statewide. Due to the exceptional work of our employees, virtually 100% of our clients recommend us to their colleagues.
What We Do:
One aspect of our business is outsourced "revenue cycle management"; billing insurance plans and patients for amounts owed to nearly 100 physician clients. This results in a reasonable amount of mail and general paperwork that needs to be accounted for and distributed to our network of account managers. Some of these account managers are working in our offices in Honolulu and Kapolei, but these days, most are working remotely from their homes.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a person with extreme attention to detail who can work closely with our revenue cycle management team and distribute paperwork and payment information on a daily basis.
Primary tasks would include:
- Sorting and opening mail and general paperwork that is received on a daily basis.
- Using our a specialized scanning application to electronically distribute this information to our account managers
- Photocopying information as necessary
- Preparing deposit slips for checks that have been received in preparation for deposit.
- Communicating with account managers clearly via email
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks in the office as necessary.
This position is estimated 20-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday starting between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning. It requires work in our office (not remote) and the ability to lift modest bins of mail (up to 20 pounds) and stand for long periods of time. Dependability is essential.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, able to follow directions closely, friendly to work with and have good communication skills. Additional consideration will be given to those familiar with administrative procedures in a medical office.
Pay rate for this position may range from $15-18 per hour. Minimum of a high school diploma. A background check will be done. Our standard compensation package includes fully paid medical/dental/vision coverage, a flexible paid time off program, ten paid holidays per year and a transportation allowance. After a year of full-time employment, employees may participate in our retirement plan that includes fully paid company contributions and profit sharing.
