Description

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Field Team by developing performance standards, oversight of training for existing and new hires, verifying the quality of work both in the field and in-house for employees and contractors, captain department expectations, and facilitating efficiency and levels of excellence set by Alpha Video. As a direct manager, the Director of Field Operations will inspire team cooperation and cohesiveness while promoting a positive work environment by proactively resolving issues with and for team members to ensure that the team is healthy, functional, and prepared to focus on the client’s needs.  As a management team member, this position will drive Alpha Video’s core values by building alignment and deepening effective communication between departments to ensure clarity and focus. 

Qualifications


Job Duties:

  • Staff Management and Development
    • Provide overall leadership for the Field Team members including those in Installation, Engineering, Service, and Trainers.
    • Foster collaboration and act as the communication conduit between other departments and the Field team.
    • Budgetary oversight and management with the assistance of the EVP of Design and Delivery and the Chief Financial Officer.
    • Raise future leaders within the Field Team by mentoring and coaching individuals
    • Oversee the staffing of the Field Team, including hiring, promoting, and, when necessary, terminating employees. 
    • Develop strategies to increase efficiency both financially and to improve employee satisfaction.

 

  • Quality Assurance
    • Create and communicate evolving standards to Field Team staff and subcontractors, ensuring adherence by both groups.
    • Directly measure the effectiveness of standards by in-field quality checks for subcontractors and Alpha Video staff.
    • Consistently monitor industry best practices and new concepts to create higher quality and more efficient outcomes.

 

  • Field Team Preparedness
    • Manage vendor relationships to ensure materials are available for the Field Team.
    • Clear obstacles from their path so the Field Team can focus on the client’s needs and experience.
    • Ensure the Field Team has the necessary resources and tools to succeed onsite.
    • Provide clear organizational vision and expectations to department and subcontractors.

 

  • Relationships within Alpha
    • Develop and deepen the working relationship with the PMO & Engineering departments to facilitate greater efficiency, productivity, and consistency in project execution.
    • Create training opportunities/modules for process improvement, career development, and safety training.
    • Provide purposeful information, data, and insights to the EVP of Design & Development regarding the health & overall well-being of the Field Team.
    • Communicate leadership goals and vision to the Field Team and align solutions with Alpha Video.

 

  • Additional Duties
    • Overall responsibility for maintaining the Alpha Video fleet of vehicles.
    • Point of contact for PSNI Global network relationships to develop more profound networking opportunities.
    • Grow and educate the subcontractor pool to consistently meet or exceed Alpha Video’s stringent quality demands.
    • Ability to cover and assume responsibilities as Lead Installer or Field Engineer when directed by the EVP of Design & Delivery.
    • Take an active role in resource planning with the PMO team.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years of successful experience leading a field installation team.
  • 1-3 years AV, digital signage, and broadcast industry working in some installation/boots on the ground/hands-on capacity.
  • Three years of people management, including overseeing performance and development, staff acquisitions and terminations, disputes, and conflict resolution.
  • Previous experience in developing training and career development tracks.
  • 2 years of managing vendors and subcontractors.
  • A successful track record of process improvement creates measurable cost and employee engagement efficiencies.
  • Ability to step in as Installer, PM, and Engineer, including all the skills and knowledge necessary to perform to Alpha Video standards for those roles.
  • Experience effectively working directly with Sr. Leadership and ownership.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or trade in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • OSHA 30 or ability to obtain this certification within 60 days.
  • Demonstrated leadership training/education/certification etc.
  • Other industry certifications preferred (CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, etc.)

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, raise, lower, push, or carry up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist, waist to overhead, and from one surface to another at mid-level.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel or often crawl in small or cramped spaces.
  • Ability to ascend or descend structures like ladders, scaffolding, ropes, or poles that require the use of both upper and lower body to climb up to 25 feet tall.
  • The ability to work on equipment is over the individual's head and shoulders/at or below the shoulders while standing/sitting.
  • Ability to walk/navigate/stand on both even and uneven surfaces.
  • Physical dexterity to manipulate small parts includes grasping and pinching small objects.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer or machine using a traditional keyboard or 10-key.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (working with small objects or reading small print), including using computers.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
  • The depth perception's clarity is less than 20 inches and more than 20 inches.
  • Ability to accurately determine the color and distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas using the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to accurately, loudly, or quickly convey detailed spoken words to other workers.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech in person, by telephone, or by other technology.

Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
