As one of 68 G&T electric coops in the nation, we own and operate Apache Generating Station near Cochise, east of Benson. The plant has a combined gross generating capacity of 605 megawatts. Our transmission system operates and maintains more than 620 miles of electric power transmission line and 26 substations reaching out from our Apache Generating Station, across Arizona to the northwestern corner of the state.

The Contract Services Specialist will prepare, review, analyze, and revise power and transmission agreements, member/customer contracts, OATT based interconnection agreements, and other related contract matters for the cooperative.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in law, accounting, economics, engineering, or other technical field is required; J.D. or applicable M.A. is preferred.

Job Responsibilities
The Contract Services Specialist will prepare, review, analyze, and revise power and transmission agreements, member/customer contracts, OATT based interconnection agreements, and other related contract matters for the cooperative.
- Prepare, analyze, and process interconnection requests, operations and maintenance agreements, and telecommunication lease agreements.
- Assist in the development of power and transmission agreements, ensuring coordination with department personnel and participants, and timely preparation, analysis, execution, and recordation of the agreements.
- Oversee administration of existing operations and maintenance agreements with Western Area Power Administration or other local utilities.
- Prepare and coordinate with system operations and the legal department for any contract exhibit amendments for operations, maintenance, and ownership responsibility.
- Monitor document management (SharePoint) electronic repository system and corporate records for proper retention of agreements.
- Serve as principal contact for monitoring contract updates, processing changes as needed, and monitoring various notice or termination provisions.
- Represent cooperative(s) on committees and task forces.
- Participate in special projects and enterprise risk management processes as required.
- Track authorizations and correspondence.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in law, accounting, economics, engineering, or other technical field is required; J.D. or applicable M.A. is preferred.
Required Skills
- 2-5 years of electric utility experience or an equivalent, which may include transmission system work, financial analysis, contract administration, regulatory compliance, or similar experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Excellent computer skills, high proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, plan, schedule, and participate in complex negotiations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various technical personnel, attorneys, and staff.
- Demonstrate initiative and independence in completing assignments with minimal guidance.
- Ability to learn and understand complex operational, technical, and administrative arrangements and processes.
- Monitor contract development status and follow up with attorneys, outside counsel, and staff to ensure deadlines are met.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience can be substituted for listed requirements.
