What is a Laundry Machine Operator?
We are responsible for safe retrieval and proper sorting of soiled linen. We are also responsible for safe and proper operation of the washers and dryers in the Laundry Department, as well as assistance with preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment. We do the washing and drying and then turn over the clean linens to the other half of the department to fold, package and distribute it. We support and demonstrate Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.

Schedule:
- Days | 8-hour shifts | 5:30am – 2pm
- Part-time | 40 Hours every two weeks.
- Weekends and Holiday rotation is every other.
Pay and Benefits (Total Rewards)
- Wage rates start at $16.48 per hour, offering more with experience.
- Weekend shift differential is $1.05 per hour when occurring.
- Full pay spectrum for this position is $14.75 - $22.13 per hour.

Duties:
- Collect, sort and empty bags of soiled linen for the laundering process.
- Loads and operates the washers and dryers according to specified weights.
- Good communication skills are needed to effectively work with team members and customers.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED graduate or equivalent required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in healthcare (institutional laundry) preferred.
- The ability to understand detailed technical instruction for Laundry instrumentation and equipment.
- Ability to read, write and understand basic math required.
- Ability to understand numerical readings on equipment required.
