- Plan, coordinate, and implement various types of events and activities.

- Plan and execute strategic directions, initiatives, goals and objectives.

- Prepare clear and concise administrative reports.
|
- Create Request for Proposals (RFP’s).
|
- Interpret and apply City, federal, state and local policies, laws, and regulations.
|
- Develop programs and presentations either directly on behalf of the City or in partnership with private sector enterprises/stakeholders.
|
- Resolve complex issues and build consensus among diverse community interest.
|
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed action and implement recommendations in support of goals.
|
- Create clear and detailed event plans, including but not limited to site maps, marketing plans, safety plans and sponsorship plans.
|
- Manage both internal and external resources, manage event processes, and coordinate meetings.
|
- Provide volunteer coordination and recognition for event participation.
|
- Provide direction to volunteers, vendors, and other performing related duties.
|
- Develop event budgets and monitor event expenditures.
|
- Manage multiple projects and perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
|
- Perform event setup and tear down including tents, tables, chair signs, banners, and audiovisual equipment.
|
- Utilize a variety of communication and interpersonal skills to interact successfully with people at a number of levels inside and/or outside the organization.
|
- Exercise effective judgment and discretion in discussing and resolving contentious issues that involve confidential discussions or situations where conflicting interests are apparent.
|
- Effectively manage external contacts to include the media, downtown businesses, vendors, restaurants, community groups, and sponsors.
|
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with various City departments, and elected officials.
|
- Read, analyze, and interpret City policies and procedures, professional journals, and other documents used by the department.
|
- Make mathematical calculations and draw logical conclusions; assist in preparation of invoicing of permittees for reimbursement.
|
- Write reports, prepare business letters, general documents, and compose emails in a clear and professional manner.
|
- Operate City vehicles, including automobile, utility vehicle, and box truck.
|
- Operate general equipment to include smartphone, smart tablet, audiovisual equipment, and various event equipment.
|
- Operate general office equipment to include scanner, printer, copier, telephone, and computer with Microsoft Office Suite.
|
- Utilize specialized software and systems to include AdobeSuite, digital survey tools, mapping software, and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
