- Assists in preparation and analysis of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), including balance sheets, cash flow statements, statements of revenue, expenditure and change on fund balance, notes, and other statements and schedules.
- Assists to prepare, reconcile, and submit year-end State Auditor required reports.
- Review and analysis of City revenues including, but not limited to, grants, taxes, business licenses & other fees.
- Analysis of financial transactions to ensure conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, applicable laws, and city policies and procedures.
- Processes and maintains bank reconciliations and performs other accounting functions such as general ledger journal entry approval, detailed account analysis, and internal audit functions.
- Maintains and updates the capital asset system, coordinating the annual inventory of capital and highly attractive assets.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of subsidiary accounts including accounts receivable, deposits and developer payments.
- Assists with the annual audit of the financial statements and accountability audit; provides financial information and records.
- Assists with the development of the biennial budget through development and preparation of supporting schedules and worksheets.
- Provides technical assistance to departments with a variety of accounting and cost analysis projects.
- Serves as primary backup for payroll processing and related tasks.
- Serves as backup for preparing bank deposits, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other financial related activities.

- Fiscal management: cash receipt, municipal investment, budget preparation, grant reporting, contract administration, expenditure control, and recordkeeping.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Skill in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable department / organization specific software and ability to learn and become skilled in the use of other specialized software and online meeting platforms as may be required.
- Skill in clearly communicating and understanding information in English, both orally and in writing, and ability to use professional composition, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Skill in responsive and flexible handling of work assignments and prioritizing work to complete assignments accurately and timely
- Skill in maintaining a customer service orientation and positive image of the city to the public, courteous and professional approach to exchanging information, and adhering to strict confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to analyze data, perform trend analysis and forecasting, and prepare and explain technical reports.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret program related laws and regulations and apply such to work processes and procedures.
- Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule, including when working remotely per an approved hybrid schedule.
