The Office of Family Health Services (OFHS) is seeking a Human Services Program Specialist (Lead Follow-up Specialist) who will specifically be responsible for the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program follow-up of children during the diagnostic hearing phase. Experience with communicating with families and stakeholders: including but not limited to verbal and electronic communication, and documentation of these activities, identification of collaborative opportunities, and working with a variety stakeholder. In accordance with the code of Virginia, this position will provide support on various projects and tasks and will collaborate and work closely with relevant stakeholders. Performs day-to-day program oversight in a district or as part of a statewide program.
Characteristic duties include conducting studies and research, technical training and programmatic assistance, program evaluation, policy development and analysis, and coordination of resources. Responsibilities are carried out independently based on an outline or work plan developed by or approved by the supervisor. Thorough knowledge of program policies, procedures, service delivery methods and clear communication skills are necessary.
This position is a full-time position that will require a mandatory on-site orientation of six months on an 8-hour day Monday-Friday schedule before becoming eligible for telework.
The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of grant or non-general funds.

This is a grant funded restricted position.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with information and security policies. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems. Ability to work independently at various hours in a wide variety of settings including clinical and field. Ability to work as part of a team, respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner; interpret and apply policies and procedures; and prepare reports and correspondence. Knowledge of and/or experience in public health practices, motivational and investigative techniques, disease reporting regulations, surveillance, and quality assurance for communicable diseases. Effective oral and written communication, organizational, time management analytical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in a related field is preferred. Public health experience.
