Accounting Specialist
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Employment Status Classification: Full-Time, Salary Exempt
Salary Range: $53,360 per year
Job Description Summary:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting with the day to day accounting operations and monthly closing process.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Update workpapers on a monthly basis
- Create monthly financial report templates
- Prepare managed entity billings and miscellaneous grant billings
- Backup for accounts payable and other key accountning functions
- Support accounting for various entities
- Preparation of various journal entries
- Assist with preparation for audits
- Other accounting related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Not-for-profit and/or grant accounting experience preferred
Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with Blackbaud/Financial Edge NXT is a plus
A willingness to learn, grow and cross train within the accounting department
Physical Demands:
While performing the functions of this job, the position is both sedentary and at times requires the ability to be active including standing, bending, lifting and/or arranging files and office products and supplies and may require employee to periodically stand on a short step stool to access files.Salary : $53,360
