Crisis Center Nurse (LPN/RN) - Weekend Days

Job Overview

Join Compass Health Network as a Nurse LPN/RN at our Crisis Center Stabilization Center, where you will play a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to individuals facing behavioral health crises. This position is specifically for weekend days, encompassing 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care, including health and pain assessments, vital signs monitoring, and daily care for individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
• Administer medications, including injections, and oversee self-administration by patients.
• Maintain meticulous records of medication management, including the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and controlled substances counts.
• Educate patients about their physical health and medication regimens.
• Coordinate care effectively with staff, residents, families, physicians, and pharmacies.
• Document and report observable changes in patients' behavior and physical condition accurately.
• Support staff during various diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Facilitate orientation and education for new employees regarding procedures and protocols.
• Participate in team and leadership meetings as required.
• Engage in mandatory overtime as necessary.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional cognitive, organizational, and emotional skills to handle multiple stressors and challenging situations.
• Experience in providing direct patient care to adults, especially in high-pressure environments.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN licensure in Missouri is required.
• A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience; experience in hospital or acute care settings is preferred.
• An Associate’s degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
