Director of Human Resources
Cullman Regional, a175-bed hospital with multiple off-campus clinics and outpatient facilities is seeking a Director of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership for all HR functions including Self-Funded Benefits plan administration, Compensation, Employee Relations, Training and Education including Orientation, Performance Management, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Employee Health and Workers Compensation. Reporting to Administration, the Director will utilize knowledge of HR best practices to assure alignment with leadership strategy. Human Resources will deliver comprehensive programs, initiatives, and solutions to cultivate increased organizational performance. The Director builds, develops and leads the HR team to provide support to the organization across the full range of HR issues while meeting the highest standards of customer service
Job Specific:
- Provides HR management in a consultative and service orientated approach to advance HR services for team members.
- Establishes collaborative working relationships with leaders throughout the organization.
- Develops an understanding and works to fulfill the business needs of the organization related to HR.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues: conducts effective and objective investigations; recommends course of action and ensures consistency and fairness in all resolutions; acts as a resource to management on issues including disciplinary actions, policy interpretation and performance and behavioral expectations.
- Develops and implements strategies to identify talent within and outside the organization.
- Administers self-funded group benefit programs (health, dental, vision, disability, worker's compensation, insurance plans, retirement plans, etc.). Investigates new benefits, improves existing programs, and monitors benefits administration. Negotiate with vendors and providers for best plans, options and rates.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations; federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Social Security and DOL requirements.
- Analyzes relevant compensation market factors and practices to ensure market competitive position and administers this program.
- Facilitates employee engagement surveys and leads action planning process to assure execution of agreed upon goals.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

- Ten (10) years comprehensive business experience; with minimum requirement of five (5) years in a senior Human Resources management position in a healthcare organization.
- Demonstrated experience in all areas of human resources management: compensation practices, self-funded benefits administration, employee relations, education and training, human resources information systems, performance management, and talent acquisition/management.
- Extensive experience with employee relations, conflict resolution and complex investigations.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Human Resources standards.
- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or Psychology preferred with a Bachelor's degree required.
- Paycom System and Microsoft Office knowledge a plus.
- Certification/Licensure: SPHR/PHR or SHRM-CP/SCP required.
