Job Summary
As a an Engineering Technical Specialist I or Engineering Technical Specialist II located at the BHE GT&S Headquarters in Bridgeport, WV, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and confirming Traceable and Verifiable records necessary to support Maximum Allowable Operation Pressures for natural gas and hazardous liquid carrying pipelines and their appurtenances to ensure compliance with Code of Federal Regulations Title 49, Parts 192 and 195. This record review evaluates pipeline and appurtenance related records that support compliance and pipeline integrity management program needs. This position plans and conducts analysis and evaluation of asset management, as it pertains to 49 CFR Parts CFR 192 and 195 compliance and their associated mitigation efforts. The role identifies and utilizes standard techniques and procedures to verify pipeline system records and compliance needs and requirements. The position implements technology within the engineering field and applies engineering theories to evaluate and support the designing and planning of construction and validation work by Engineering and Operational teams. The position interacts with various stakeholders to assist with project planning and to support the development of project budgets by providing GIS, Drawing and Records support. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

- Minimum of 0- 2 years of related work experience.
- Engineering Technical Specialist II
- 3 years of related work experience
- Engineering Technical Specialist I minimum of 0- 2 years of related work experience or Engineering Technical Specialist II minimum of 3 years of related work experience
- Compile and maintain verifiable and traceable documentation for all records used in establishing Maximum Allowable Operating Pressures for regulatory compliance and annual reporting.
- Document finding within formal Technical Report.
- Support project planning and remediation to address compliance needs
- Evaluate and facilitate update needs for the GIS System
- Review and document Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure for Pipelines, Measurement, Regulation and Compressor Stations.
- Assist in preparing GIS data for evaluation in the MAOP validation tool.
- Schedule and maintain periodic pipeline class location studies based on business need, including field surveys and verification as necessary.
- Work with Operations to monitor proposed developments along our pipeline corridors to identify potential class changes or High Consequence Areas.
- Document changes in class location and communicate class changes per Management of Change Processes.
- Compile and maintain pipeline class location change documentation against historical baseline studies.
- Review potential and actual class location changes against pipe design and historical test data to confirm Maximum Allowable Operating Pressures per Code of Federal Regulations Title 49, Parts 192, and propose recommendations for remediation, if required.
- Review changes in pipe class location to determine additional remedial concerns, such as, adequate valve spacing and odorization as required.

- 4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
- 4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical related discipline; or
- 4-year non-technical degree and post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree
