Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Research Program vacancy.
The Project Coordinator position is a vital role in the Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) grant to coordinate one of three research projects in the RCMI center. This position will oversee various financial aspects, including processing invoices, budget tracking, and processing fee for service contracts, to ensure the successful execution of the grant objectives over the five-year period.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the coordinator is responsible for recruiting study participants, collecting survey data, maintaining community recruitment sites, and managing the study IRB. Under the supervision of the PI, the Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accrual and completion records, data entry and management, and informed consent documents. The Coordinator will assist the PI with work assignments for the Graduate Assistants; Responsible for working with the PI to ensure the project budget is expended in compliance with the Agency’s and University’s regulations as well as initiating and following through will all spending on the project; Must have reliable transportation for participant data collection activities; Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English; and other position related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.
Recommended Competencies
Experience in the area of healthcare, database management, and project coordination;
Knowledgeable of administrative policies and procedures;
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related university policies, procedures, principles, and practices;
Knowledgeable of the basic concepts, principles and practices of financial data and report preparation;
Knowledgeable for interaction with students, faculty, staff and the public in-person and by phone in English and in Spanish;
Knowledgeable of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication in English and in Spanish;
Skills in office computer software including: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, and Outlook;
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of research methodology, principles, and practices in area of work; ability to speak clear, effective and use of good English and Spanish communication, reading, writing, and editing;
Ability to be self-motivated and able to work independently, comprehend and follow oral and written instructions;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; and
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience in project coordination;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
Experience working with graphics to create professional looking presentations.
Pay Plan
This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.
