Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting and financial analysis, with a deep understanding of GAAP and financial concepts. This role is essential for providing accurate cost information that supports budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial strategy. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in interpreting financial reports and conducting account analysis to ensure the integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities · Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
· Analyzing data collected and recording results.
· Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
· Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
· Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
· Upload Inventory Variances.
· Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports.
· Assigns SPC codes to new products
· Interact with Production Control to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Review and audit BOM’s to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices.
· Run annual standard cost setting process that includes reviewing Purchased Material & Conversion Costs (Labor & Overhead) and complete revaluation process at the beginning of the year with the revaluation journal entries.
· Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
· Maintaining Cost Accounting System.
· Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
· Conduct physical inventories and monitors cycle count program.
· Register the Production, Cost of Goods sold and Contract Manufacturing Journal entries.
· Reconcile inventories.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
· Work with the finance department to implement and apply cost accounting policies and procedures as they are derived.
· Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support the operations.
· Support compliance activities associated with Food Safety Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, Gluten-Free, Organic and Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or cost accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial analysis techniques and tools.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
