Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and HRIS Professional to serve as the Company’s Payroll & HRIS Administrator. The Payroll & HRIS Administrator will be responsible for processing payroll and supporting the HR team with benefits administration and various compensation initiatives. The Payroll & HRIS Administrator will be an advocate for continuous improvement through various HRIS initiatives.
Payroll & Compensation Administration
- Perform bi-weekly payroll processing for over 400 employees, both salary and hourly, working in multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Administer day-to-day payroll activities, ensuring timely and precise execution in compliance with Company pay policies, payroll tax, and labor laws.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Serve as primary interface with external payroll service provider and other service providers to ensure service quality and adherence to service level agreements.
- Manage various state payroll tax accounts and coordinate new state applications, as required.
- Perform regular payroll analytics through the creation/maintenance of various payroll and HRIS reports.
- Work closely with the Finance Department to perform regular payroll reconciliations to the general ledger.
- Support various internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll records and documentation.
- Perform compensation benchmarking, as requested, to support competitive pay practices throughout Fres-co.
- Support the annual bonus/merit increase data gathering and aggregation process.
- Assist the People and Culture team in maintaining accurate employee records and managing benefits-related payroll deductions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure data security across all payroll-related processes.
HRIS Management
- Implement and maintain HRIS strategies that align with organizational goals and continuous improvement of the HR function.
- Support workflow improvements and automation enhancements.
- Assist in managing system upgrades, implementations, and integrations with other internal business systems.
- Maintain system documentation, including user guides and training materials.
- Audit data integrity, address discrepancies, and recommend process improvements to enhance data quality.
Benefits Administration & Other Responsibilities
- Support annual benefit open enrollment and benefit change processes ensuring HRIS systems are accurately configured to collect and aggregate employee benefit choices.
- Perform various HR Generalist duties, as assigned, that support various HR compliance and other initiatives
- Provide back-up and support to People and Culture team members as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to be an advocate for best practices and continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and remote teams.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, accounting, information technology, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive payroll experience.
- Experience with UKG payroll system is required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification is preferred.
