Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lean Manufacturing Instructor to join our team remotely. In this vital role, you will collaborate with small and mid-sized manufacturers to optimize their operational efficiency, enhance reliability, and boost throughput through the implementation of advanced technologies and methodologies, including Smart Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Lean principles, and Quality Management. You will assess client technologies, identify improvement areas, and support the execution of best-in-class solutions, all while fostering partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current trends, industry dynamics, and technology gaps within Michigan's manufacturing sector.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in your areas of expertise.
  • Design and conduct tailored training programs for manufacturing clients.
  • Identify high-potential market opportunities and proactively engage with them.
  • Provide leadership and support for client projects through executive-level and hands-on coaching and training on the shop floor.
  • Assist in sales initiatives by preparing compelling presentations and formulating business strategies that strengthen client relationships and secure new contracts.
  • Evaluate clients’ operations and offer actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency.
  • Utilize your knowledge of business strategies to assist clients in achieving operational excellence.

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience in a wide array of manufacturing technologies, including IoT, Advanced Sensors, Cloud, ERP/APS Systems, Automation, MES Hardware/Software, Big Data, Analytics, IT/OT, Cybersecurity, Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, PLC programming, and Quality Management.
  • Exceptional ability to cultivate partnerships and collaborate effectively with clients.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering engaging, subject-specific workshops and training sessions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Experience in plant floor layout design using relevant software and simulations.
  • Proven track record in developing innovative service offerings that meet client needs.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects independently, with an emphasis on service delivery.
  • Experience with tools such as Smartsheets, Visio, 3D CAD/CAM, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and P&L management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and cloud-based applications.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification is an advantage.
  • Passionate about Industry 4.0 and manufacturing innovation.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Demonstrated project management experience emphasizing service delivery.
