Job Description:
As an IT Help Desk Technician at GIS, you will sit in our client’s office located inside a plant. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our clients' IT systems. You will provide technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and contribute to the overall success of our IT department.
Responsibilities:
End-User Support: Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in person, ensuring prompt and courteous assistance.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly and efficiently.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and hardware/software inventory.
Hardware Maintenance: Perform hardware maintenance, including system upgrades, installations, and component replacements.
Software Support: Assist users with software installations, updates, and configurations.
Password Resets: Manage user accounts, including password resets and account activations/deactivations.
Network Connectivity: Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including LAN and wireless connections.
Remote Support: Provide remote assistance to users, utilizing remote desktop tools when necessary.
User Training: Conduct user training sessions and create user guides as needed to enhance end-user IT knowledge.
Security Awareness: Assist in maintaining and enforcing IT security policies, including antivirus and anti-malware measures.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, perform regular inventory audits, and assist with procurement.
Requirements:
minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an IT Help Desk Technician or in a similar role.
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience (preferred).
Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems.
Experience with IT projects
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Knowledge of IT security best practices is a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are desirable.
