We are currently hiring for: Staff Accountant
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for accurately maintaining all company general ledgers and supporting the daily activities of the accounting team. This role involves processing transactions, preparing reconciliations and assisting with financial reporting while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations for all entities.
- Accurately perform monthly journal entries including rent and lease expense, prepaid amortization entries and accrued expenses for all companies.
- Review and reconcile all cash related activity, bank accounts and corporate credit cards.
- Review and collaborate with the A/P team to resolve outstanding vendor checks.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and compliance-related tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and related supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Work closely with A/R and A/P departments to resolve discrepancies and provide support as needed.
- Maintain financial compliance with GAAP standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Controller and Director of Finance with ad-hoc projects and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., Canopy, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks is a plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a strong focus on Excel.
- Highly motivated to learn and take on new tasks as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Must be able to gather and analyze financial data/information skillfully.
- Strong creative problem solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
