We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Consulting Accounting Assistant to join our team in the Energy industry. This exciting role offers the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in shaping the financial health of the company. As a Consulting Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, and maintaining financial security by following internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software and regularly reconciling accounts.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices and tax payments.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
• Perform 3-way match - verifying that purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices match.
• Assist in year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
• Maintain an organized and streamlined accounting system.
• Provide support to the Accounting Department as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
• Solid understanding of GL, Invoicing, Entries, Ledger, AP, Income Statement, A/R, 3 Way Match, Year End Close, Bookkeeping, Journal Entries, Reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
• Excellent computer skills with experience in accounting software, data entry, and financial analysis.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to direct and supervise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
