Title: Human Resources GeneralistDepartment: Office of Human ResourcesReports to: Director of Human Resources Category: ExemptSummary/ObjectiveReporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist provides oversight for the daily operations of the Office of Human Resources including employment actions and employee relations, talent management and organizational development, onboarding and retention, administration of performance management, and other human resources related functions, and assist the Office of Finance and Accounting with compensation and benefits administration. This position is responsible for ensuring policies, guidelines, procedures, workflows, and human resources information systems are in compliance with applicable employment laws. The Human Resources Generalist position will work closely with college leadership. This position will support human resources and employee benefits information systems, policies and procedures, and will assist in the implementation of processes and procedures that increase service to college operations.Essential FunctionsProvides management oversight of human resource management information systems and applicant tracking systems. Ensures timely and accurate processing of all employment related transactions including new employee hiring, terminations, benefit or compensation changes, and associated employment record management actions.Provides advice, guidance, training, and consultative support on employment related matters to supervisors, hiring managers, and search committees. Serves as initial point of contact for applicants, new hires, supervisors and managers, and for all other human resource needs.Advises and coaches managers and supervisors on performance improvement strategies or progressive discipline options, maintaining compliance with college policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.Supports the Office of Finance and Accounting with day-to-day administration of employee benefits including education and support for employees with questions about employee benefits programs. Serve as a resource and liaison for training as applicable.Assist the Director of Human Resources with the college's annual performance evaluation program. Actively engage with managers to train and assist them in writing effective performance reviews and having successful performance conversations on an ongoing basis.Assist in administering a variety of programs to recognize staff performance and contributions to their role and the college.Create and conduct new employee and new supervisor onboarding and training programs.
