LHH Recruitment Solutions (Human Resources division) is partnering with an organization in Overland Park, KS, and assisting them search for a new Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team. This organization has been in business for over 100 years, and this position reports to a strong HR leader. We are searching for a Senior Payroll Administrator with multi-state payroll experience (including California), union payroll experience, strong technical skills, and ideally someone with experience utilizing UKG. This is primarily an on-site opportunity in Overland Park, with some flexibility to work from home, but the organization is primarily an on-site culture. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead end-to-end payroll operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Lead effort for various annual audits like 401(k)/Form 5500 and Workers’ Compensation renewal
- Benefits Billing Reconciliation
- Union payroll
- Manage and process payroll taxes both quarterly and annually with precision and accuracy
- Develop analytical reports for management and conduct thorough payroll audits to maintain financial integrity
- Oversee timekeeping systems, implement process improvements, and collaborate with field teams
- Champion compliance initiatives while maintaining detailed documentation and supporting company safety programs
QULAIIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience managing payroll operations, garnishments, taxes, and employee benefits
- California payroll experience a plus too
- In-depth knowledge of multi-state payroll and federal payroll regulations
- Advanced skills in payroll software (UKG-Ready preferred) and MS Excel
- Certification in Payroll (CPP or FPC) is a plus
