Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily activities of our fleet, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of vehicles, and maintaining compliance with all regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to optimizing fleet performance.
Duties
- Manage the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance programs, ensuring all vehicles are serviced regularly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation and vehicle operations.
- Train and supervise drivers on safe driving practices and company policies.
- Develop and implement policies for fleet operations to enhance productivity and safety.
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role within the transportation industry.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management.
- Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A valid driver's license is required; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Will be required to cover dispatch duties as needed and on a rotational weekend.
