POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Athletic Digital Media & Content Creation will collaborate with the Director of Athletic Communications and is responsible for leading the creative direction and content for Moravian Athletics video production and social media platforms. Responsibilities will include cultivating fan engagement through video production and digital media content for Moravian University’s 23 NCAA Division III athletic programs. This position will lead game-day video including the in-venue broadcast at Rocco Calvo Field and video on demand for the web and social media. Other duties as assigned by the DAC or other athletics department officials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create promotional video content for targeted use on social media and athletics website.
- Design and develop all video board content to be utilized on Football gamedays.
- In consultation and collaboration with other members of the Athletics staff, develop social media content for all social media accounts that support Moravian Athletics and 23 individual athletic teams.
- Produce and publish video on demand for the Department of Athletics. This includes but is not limited to post-game highlights, features, event previews, and especially videos.
- Train, schedule, and work with student workers and staff to support social media content calendars and video production efforts.
- Conceptualize and produce the annual All-Athlete Banquet footage and content.
- Management of Athletic Department photo images inventory and archives.
- Possess and maintain technical expertise: track industry trends and innovations in the field.
- Perform other job-related duties as needed, or as assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications or Athletic Senior Leadership.
- Travel with teams during Landmark and NCAA postseason tournaments to capture and create content.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in communications, video production, sports management, or a related field is required. Experience in videography and social media is required. Experience preferred in athletics communications and marketing. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel are needed. Displaying the ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced high-pressure environment are essential.
Other qualifications include: Experience and skill in video editing using Adobe software and video animation, Nevco Digital scoreboards and livestreaming software including Hudl/BlueFrame, preferred. Knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) a must.
