What are the responsibilities and job description for the Correspondent Banking Specialist position at National Cooperative Bank?
Customer Support: Correspondent Banking Specialist is responsible to maintain updated Correspondent Banking (CB) contracts and maintain the credit union document portal folders. This position also collects, maintains, and tracks CB credit union annual Loan Renewal and BSA documentation for OCC examination. They will also process foreign checks, currency and drafts. This position will also be responsible for monitoring the daily CB swm files.
Operations: Correspondent Banking Specialist is responsible for preparing department reporting, processing overdraft loan payments, and tracking account overdrafts and loan usage. This position will log all CB related file totals. This position will balance the Fed EBA account, verify IntraFi integration entries, verify BlackRock sweep balances, and make daily journal entries. Additional CB department responsibilities include handling the general ledger reconciliations and daily operations associated with the bank’s commercial products. This position also maintains operations for the virtual vault program through Loomis and Brinks armored carrier systems. This position orders currency to stock multiple vaults at the carriers and tracks deposits and change orders for customers. It also monitors Safe Point deposit activity. Additional reconciliations prepared by this position includes ACH clearing, Deposit clearing, and Wire clearing. The operations desk will cover daily balancing for day off coverage.
New Accounts: This position is responsible for maintaining the IntraFi, BlackRock, and Analysis programs. They will track and process all new accounts into the programs. They will work with the Sr. Correspondent Banking Specialist, BDO staff, and the customers to support the process. They will maintain the investment vendor systems by inputting new customers, making trades, verifying integration processes, tracking NCB investments, and tracking renewals. They will create and distribute Weiland analysis, IntraFi, and BlackRock statements. This desk will also assist with maintaining the documentations from all new accounts in our document data base and will work with the ETL statement automation process. They will be responsible for updating the analysis system with all new account setups and creating the analysis statements.
Associate degree in accounting or business preferred

- Provide backup assistance to the CB team by completing a specific list of day off coverage duties. 25%
- Conduct research for CB customer phone calls and emails, process Q2 requests, process analysis requests, process placement requests, and maintain customer support for all lines of business managed by the CB team. 25%
