Perricone Farms, a leading citrus juice supplier based in Newport, California, is currently seeking a Benefits & Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic and growing juice beverage company. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, responsible for managing all payroll processing and employee benefit programs. The Benefits & Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with applicable regulations. Additionally, the specialist will assist in resolving employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits, as well as support HR functions related to compensation and benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration:
- Process bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Manage employee deductions for taxes, benefits, and other items in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Review and approve timekeeping records, overtime calculations, and employee attendance.
- Maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and benefits.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Provide employees with guidance on benefits options, enrollment processes, and eligibility.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and assist employees with claims or benefit issues.
- Coordinate with third-party benefit vendors and ensure timely enrollment, changes, and terminations.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare and submit required payroll reports, tax filings, and regulatory compliance documents.
- Stay current on federal and state regulations related to payroll, benefits, and labor laws.
- Prepare year-end tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.) and support the auditing process.
Employee Inquiries:
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain secure and organized payroll and benefits records.
- Ensure confidentiality of all employee payroll and benefits data.
Additional HR Support:
- Assist with HR functions such as new employee onboarding and benefits orientations.
- Collaborate with HR and management to improve payroll and benefits processes.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree, in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll and benefits administration experience, preferably in a farming or agricultural environment.
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), with experience in payroll processing and familiarity with Paycom preferred.
- Familiarity with federal and state payroll and benefits regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Certification in payroll (CPP or FPC) is a plus.
