The Job:
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities listed below, we are looking for someone that will promote safe and efficient production of high-quality distillate. This role will give you the unique opportunity to contribute to and learn about every aspect of production. You will report directly to the Distillery Manager and perform all key responsibilities that will ensure success across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with the creation of SOPs used to create consistency and efficiency throughout production
· Work cross-functionally with distillery leadership to support innovation, quality and continuous improvement
· Enhance employee engagement by helping to create objectives and prioritizing tasks for the team
· Monitor and operate various distillery equipment including, but not limited to, grain handling, roller mill, mash cooking vessels, fermentation tanks, column still and doubler/thumper
· Execute job responsibilities by manual labor in conjunction with computer software technology to maintain daily production
· Conduct quality testing through sensory evaluations of incoming grain, new mash sets, finished beer and new make spirit
· Perform standard lab procedures for grain analysis, beer chemistry and alcohol to ensure all quality standards are met
· Perform scheduled caustic CIP sanitations on mash cooking vessels and distillation equipment as needed
· Responsible for minor maintenance (cleaning, inspection and equipment repairs)
· Maintain accurate recording keeping analyzing data used to drive continuous improvement
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· 3 years of distillery experience required
· Proficient computer skills with experience utilizing electronic mail software, time accounting software, project management software, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PLC applications
· Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
