About the Role:

We’re hiring one dedicated in-person tutor to provide small-group English Language Arts (ELA) instruction for elementary school students in grades 3–5 at The Matilda Avenue School. As a tutor, you will work as push-in support, assisting classroom teachers and delivering targeted instruction to strengthen students' reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall literacy development. You will be provided with PRACTICE’s digital ELA curriculum to support your instruction in class.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver targeted, culturally responsive ELA instruction
• Provide push-in support by assisting teachers during lessons and working with small groups of students
• Utilize school-provided ELA workbooks and PRACTICE’s digital ELA curriculum to reinforce key literacy concepts
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and academic growth
• Provide individualized attention to students as needed to address specific learning challenges
  
  

Schedule:

• Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Duration: March 31, 2025 – May 23, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
• Key Dates Off:
• March 31: Eid al-Fitr
• April 14–18: Spring Recess
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching elementary school Math and/or ELA
• Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of elementary-level Math and/or ELA
• Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences
• Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students
• Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently
