Services offered include: Demolition, clearing, grading, stump removal, site prep, concrete removal, trenching, driveway installation, foundation, excavation, installation of sewer, water, power and gas, etc.

Overview:

Performs mechanized equipment operation; operates various pieces of equipment such as excavators, skid loaders, backhoe, dozers, track loaders, trucks, trenchers, and compaction equipment in a safe manner to move land materials and complete top loading, excavations, back-filling and basic finish operations according to project specifications. Works independently and in cooperation with fellow employees to complete job tasks to specifications.

Qualifications: MUST be qualified and skilled

• Must have 5 years of experience operating on earthwork and/or utility crews.
• Must have experience with grade checking and the use of laser survey equipment.
• Must have experience operating equipment such as excavators, loaders, trucks, and backhoes in construction or earthwork construction operations such as land development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operates equipment in a safe manner with precision and efficiency to meet plan specifications and complete job tasks; maintains an awareness of surroundings at all times, including fellow employees and visible and non-visible hazards such as elevation changes, street crossings and underground utilities.
• Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
• Conducts daily walk around inspections, performs routine maintenance, and reports damage or needed service to the Owner.
• Studies instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
• Operates equipment to move, load, and unload material.
• Operates equipment to grade or redistribute earth.
• Knows and does not exceed equipment limitations such as capacity and capability.
• Excavates for pipe, drainage and utility installation and performs backfilling as necessary.
• Provides direction to employee(s) assisting with installation.
• Must be able to assist laborer or fill in any job position when not operating heavy equipment.
• May be required to complete field paperwork such as daily activity logs.
• Must follow all safety protocols

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain stamina to perform assigned duties.
• Finger, hand, arm, leg, and foot dexterity is required to operate hand levers and foot pedals.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours during the week.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work independently at a fast pace.
• This is an outdoor position, exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
• Hourly wage will be between $34.00 - $40.00 dependent on experience.
• VALID DRIVER LICENSE REQUIRED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour
