What you’ll do:
Employee Relations:
- Develops and maintains working relationships with leadership and staff in order to facilitate the resolution of employment related issues that may arise. Partners with leadership and staff to handle employee relations issues, facilitate building strong relationships, communicate effectively; to deliver service excellence, and offers the applicable solutions to leadership and employees.
- Facilitates collaborative problem-solving strategies to resolve employee relations matters through effective communication with all levels of employees.
- Conducts investigations, writes reports and takes action to support productive resolution of concerns regarding employees. Supports managers with and participates in delivering corrective action when appropriate.
Leave of Absence Administration:
- Performs full cycle leave of absence administration of FMLA/CFRA/PDL/PFL and other leave processes.
- Processes reasonable accommodation requests and facilities the interactive process between employees and leadership.
Talent Acquisition:
- Supports the talent acquisition process of sourcing, attracting, recruiting, interviewing, and on-boarding of new employees.
- Supports job description reviews and make recommended changes
Training:
- Collaborate with HR Team members and the Learning & Development Team to conduct skills gap analysis, develop, implement and maintain programs necessary to ensure SDHS compliance with all required internal SDHS trainings and all mandated legal training requirements.
- Assists with training for managers and employees; prepares materials, presents, evaluates outcomes.
General:
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures; assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures; and recommends revisions to policies and procedures and employee guidelines
- Maintains current knowledge required to assure compliance with federal, state, county regulations concerning all employment related actions, including COVID-19 compliance.
- Support Covid-19 contract tracing, quarantine and workplace exclusion through performing exposure analysis.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources administration, public or business administration, or a related field required. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Five (5) years of work experience in a professional HR capacity with experience managing complex employee relations situations and working collaboratively with management level staff required.
- Must possess a combination of other applicable HR experience in position classification, salary administration, training, employee benefits, leave of absence administration, or any combination of HR functions appropriate to the position described.
- PHR or SPHR preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of Human Resources administration. Broad knowledge of state and federal labor laws.
Location: Supporting all campuses, but based at our San Diego Campus. This position has the potential for remote work some days of the week.
Pay: Starting range is between $71,500 – $89,375 annually. The hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
