General Ledger Accountant

Position Summary

Lead, direct, and supervise financial statement preparation.  Maintain general ledger, budgets, and taxes.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assists in establishing accounting processes and procedures.
2. Directs general ledger entries and general ledger reconciliation.
3. General Ledger analysis and maintenance.
4. Analysis of revenue and expense processes to provide input on efficiency and accuracy.
5. Prepares monthly financial statements and reports for review and analysis.
6. Tax reconciliation and reporting.
7. Financial Statement budget maintenance and analysis.
8. Ensures compliance with GAAP and systems of internal controls.
9. Develops and prepares specialized reports as requested.
10. Knowledge of operations and Federal, state and Tribal tax reporting requirements
11. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success.  KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

1. Must be detail-oriented, and well organized.
2. Must have previous accounting experience.
3. Must have effective written and oral communications skills.
4. Excellent computer skills.
5. Knowledge of purchasing and inventory systems.
6. Ability to analyze and develop logical decisions.
7. Knowledge of business administration of a food and beverage operation.
8. Knowledge and experience in general ledger and financial statements
9. Ability to create and maintain relationships with members of management, subordinates and associates within the organization.  

   Education And Experience  

Required

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2. Four (4) years of accounting experience including two (2) in a supervisory capacity.
3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred

1. Experience in gaming or resort/hospitality industries

Note: Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years, two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory capacity, may substitute for the required education and experience.

License/Certifications/Registrations

1.  Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License
2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.

Walking

Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations.

Sitting

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Standing

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Stooping

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Talking

Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
