The Marketing Director is responsible for leading Tarrant Area Food Bank’s (TAFB) Marketing team with innovation, creativity, and strategic vision. This role oversees the development, implementation, and management of all earned and paid advertising, crisis communications, and strategic marketing efforts to ensure alignment with TAFB’s mission. The Marketing Director will be a self-starter with expertise in public relations, government relations, and crisis communications, capable of driving impactful campaigns across multiple channels. This role will work closely with the VP of External Affairs to set the overall marketing strategy and oversee other aspects of marketing that are led by the Marketing Project Manager and Graphic Design Manager.
Essential Responsibilities

Develop and implement TAFB’s marketing and communications strategy in collaboration with the VP of External Affairs.

Lead and coach the Marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, adaptability, and high performance.

Ensure alignment across marketing functions, coordinating with the Marketing Project Manager and Graphic Design Manager.

Manage and execute all paid and earned media advertising, digital marketing, and crisis communications strategies.

Analyze marketing performance, track ROI, and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.

Oversee relationships with media, vendors, and external partners to maximize impact and efficiency.

Create and lead the development of strategic, compelling messaging for all TAFB’s creative content, including press releases, media alerts and pitches, articles, op-eds, newsletters, reports, official statements, social media, website content, and multimedia materials.

Manage media relations, including maintaining regular contact with target media and ensuring timely and appropriate responses to media requests.

Manage internal customer service needs by overseeing marketing requests, collateral development, and ticketing systems to support other departments efficiently.
Additional Duties

Provide thought leadership on emerging marketing trends and innovative strategies.

Ensure brand consistency across all messaging and creative materials.

Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan to ensure readiness and responsiveness.

Represent TAFB at key community and networking events to enhance brand awareness.

Collaborate across departments to align marketing initiatives with organizational priorities.

Ensure all marketing initiatives adhere to TAFB’s brand standards, one-voice policy, and style guide for consistent messaging.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, public relations, or a related field.

5 years of leadership experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or government relations.

Demonstrated expertise in managing teams, developing marketing campaigns, leading crisis communications, and driving organizational messages organizational messaging with measurable results.

Proven track-record in public and government relations, media strategy and budget management, ensuring cost-effective marketing initiatives.

Strong proficiency in digital marketing, SEO, social media strategy, and analytics.
Technical Proficiencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, website platforms, and other marketing and communications tools.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
