JOB OVERVIEW:
This position works closely with the director of revenue analysis and the other financial analysts. It supports contract negotiations by compiling data and comparing outcomes of different scenarios. Primary responsibilities include compiling and formatting various types of data, and using it to create reports/financial impact analyses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Compiles data from various sources; cleans and formats data into meaningful reports; updates reports as needed.
- Reviews data trends and communicates findings to Managed Care, Revenue Cycle and/or Operational leadership, as appropriate.
- Supports Managed Care management in preparation for contract negotiation discussions and internal meetings and/or initiatives.
- Troubleshoots data and conducts analysis using critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
- Supports Director and other Analysts with data compiling and preparing reports.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in management sciences, business or related field preferred
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to create and work with pivot tables, write formulas, chart customization, etc.,)
- Two years of healthcare finance experience (payer or provider) preferred
- Knowledge of managed care/Medicare concepts and reimbursement mechanisms preferred
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technical skills
- Impeccable attention to detail when following set instructions and reviewing reports for accuracy
- Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments from various levels across the organization by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating work schedule
- Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), particularly to explain complex data analyses in easy to understand terms
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a professional demeanor
- Ability to work well with others, and work with minimal direction/supervision
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work; handle stress and conflict
- Resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong decision making and problem-solving skills
