What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position at The Arc Rapides?
Summary/Objective:
The administrative assistant/receptionist is responsible for all clerical duties assigned, greeting public/visitors and answering telephone. Supervision received from the Director or Deputy Director.
Position Requirements:
1. Must be high school graduate or complete GED
2. Preference may be given for additional education and certifications
Essential Key Responsibilities:
1. Answer telephone
2. Data processing
3. Filing
4. Making copies
5. Meet and greet visitors to allow access via gate or door and ensure linkage with appropriate personal.
6. Handle monies with accuracy (i.e., lunch money, snack money, change, etc.)
7. Accurately report clients wages to Social Security
8. Scan and email documents
9. Accurately update van list as needed
10. Accurately update staff phone number list as needed
11. Order office supplies
12. Accurately update attendance sheets, LAST sheets and progress notes.
13. Make new Domestic Sheets
14. Make SIL/ Vocational binders
15. Keep files organized
16. File all client paperwork in their binder monthly
17. Ensure that all van pre-trips and weeklies are completed
18. Report client wages when requested
19. Assist with posting In-service
20. Assure the confidentiality of clients and clients records and information
21. Prompt daily attendance
22. Be a team player.
23. Must attend and successfully complete all training required by the State or RARC
24. May be assigned to any job area and/or any duties that a need arises, at any time deemed necessary by Supervisor.
25. Must be available to drive van route as needed.
26. Follow all Rapides RARC Policies and Procedures.

-Must demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
-Must accurately maintain recordkeeping and information systems
-Must demonstrate ability to work independently
-Must be able to evacuate the premises independently in case of emergency and assist program participants and other employees and to do the same
-Physical ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
Other Requirements
-Must pass criminal history check
-Must pass drug screen & alcohol and health clearance
-Valid LA chauffeurs driver’s license and acceptable driving history for company insurance
