The role of Gallery Manager is to manage the daily operations of our new 5,000 sq ft art gallery in Alpharetta. Including managing two part-time employees, exhibitions, client services, and facility maintenance. They should not be afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large. The successful candidate should have a pleasant, supportive demeanor and positive energy. They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience with face-to-face customer service! We are seeking an experienced art consultant with exceptional communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have a strong background in fine art sales or experience in other high-end sales environments. Primary responsibilities include working with existing clients as well as generating new client leads, closing new sales, and maintaining long term client relationships. There will be opportunities for involvement in marketing strategies and campaigns, development of our online presence and oversight of some day-to-day functions in the gallery. We are looking for someone who can sell art while being polished and professional, enthusiastic, collaborative, and approachable. You do not have to be an artist for this job.
This position is full time Wednesday – Sunday.

Availability: Wednesday – Sunday (10:30–8 pm) 8 hr shift within these hrs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Art Sales
- Customer Service
- Data Entry/inventory management
- Opening and closing the gallery daily
- Answering phones and replying to emails
- Greeting visitors
- Managing the daily activities/schedules of two part-time employees
- Updating the gallery's mailing list, directories, and calendar
- Hosting opening receptions and events
- Liaising with gallery artists to discuss inventory and nurture artist relationships
- Organizing and maintaining artist files and archival materials
- Updating artwork locations, client, and inventory databases
- Maintaining office technology including printers, computers, and phones
- Maintain gallery website and social media presence
- Maintain sales platforms, databases, and manage updates to website
- Ensure inventory is accurate and updated accordingly
- Assist packing, unpacking artworks, storage, hanging of artworks
- Role will require occasional lifting, up to 50 lbs
- Coordinating daily schedules, deliveries, pick-ups
- Maintaining up to date calendar
- Preparing for gallery events and client viewings
- Preparing gallery status summaries for Board of Directors
- Selling art
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Marketing, or Advertising (preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with ability to promote the success of each member of the team
- At least 3 years relevant work experience in retail sales (fine art gallery experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of and passion for a variety of fine art
- Sales experience
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to sell merchandise
- Enthusiasm for performing any task, large or small
- Attention to detail and good taste in a wide variety of art
- Ability and confidence to safely handle and install fine artwork

- Ability to manage part-time staff members and interns
- General knowledge of artists and artistic movements represented by the gallery
- Computer skills preferred: Photoshop & Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of web interface and database handling a plus
- Comfortable engaging with the public/clients
- Candidate must be professional, highly organized, and able to multi-task
