JOB DESCRIPTION
WORKING TITLE: Volunteer Services Program Assistant
REPORTS TO: Volunteer Services
JOB SUMMARY
This position provides general administrative support to the Volunteer Services Department during the Summer Volunteer Program. This role will be for approximately 4-5 months.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as a back-up to the reception area by answering phones, triaging patient staff and community requests, and assisting with walk-in inquiries. Assist with training and delegating patient requests to office volunteers.
Assist with maintaining the flow of paperwork and ensure files are complete for each volunteer according to TJC, HIPAA, Infection Control, Accident and Liability, and Occupational Health standards.
Assist with collecting and maintaining data for statistical reports.
Enter volunteer data in the volunteer database and print reports as needed.
Maintain and organize all workspaces in the Volunteer Office, especially in the storage area and front reception area.
- Assist with special projects and events.

Department Description
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED
2 years of college or equivalent experience.
Six months of office/clerical experience or equivalent training.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of standard computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Detail-oriented with basic organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED
Experience in a hospital setting, with an emphasis on working with volunteers.
