The Talent Acquisition Specialist will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract and retain a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the University of New Haven. The incumbent will be responsible for executing the overall recruitment strategy for staff and faculty talent acquisition.
You are:
- Able to create and implement sourcing strategies for a variety of university roles
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
- Familiar with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
- Proficient with or the have the ability to quickly learn applicant tracking software such as ClearCompany or other recruitment systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Agile and forward thinking with ability to adapt and develop relationships quickly
- Well versed in industry changes and technology integration
- Comfortable providing feedback to hiring leaders
You will:
- Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process for university staff and faculty
- Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
- Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization in support of diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Introduce progressive and quantifiable improvements to the recruitment selection process including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and candidate source reporting
- Assist with job postings and the advertisement process including the utilization of appropriate higher education and social media sites
- Screen applications and select qualified candidates
- Schedule interviews: oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
- Assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resources staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent information
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
- Attend and participate in career fairs and recruitment events
- Perform other duties as assigned
You need:
- A bachelors degree in human resources or a related filed, equivalent work experience, required
- 4 years of recruitment/HR experience managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
