SCOPE
The Payroll Administrator will oversee the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for contractors and employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for employees including time management and garnishments
- Process bi-weekly payment runs for contractors including invoice review and reporting
- Collects, verifies, and prepares data for payroll processing in Paycom
- Audit pay errors or omissions
- Responds to pay-related inquiries from employees and contractors
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and best practices
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
- Assists HR team in special projects and performs additional duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least one year of experience in payroll preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and wage and hour regulations
- Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in HRIS or Payroll software and reporting required; Paycom experience preferred
- FPC or CPP certification preferred
- Effectively problem-solve and exercise good judgment, while maintaining discretion
- Experience in analyzing payroll data and reporting abilities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and initiative to complete assignments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
