Job Title: Remote Labor Law Paralegal
Location: Remote (Nassau County-based firm)
Firm: Private Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Law Firm (Nassau County based)
Salary: $90,000 – $105,000 (no additional benefits at this time)
Overview:
A high-performing plaintiff’s personal injury firm based in Nassau County is hiring a Remote Senior Litigation Paralegal with at least 5 years of experience in New York Labor Law litigation, including Sections 240(1), 241(6), and 200. This is a position for a seasoned paralegal ready to take full ownership of serious cases and contribute meaningfully to a busy trial-focused practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage litigation files using SmartAdvocate (or similar case management software—with ability to learn quickly if new to the platform).
- Draft complete, strategic Bills of Particulars tied to specific Industrial Code violations.
- Identify applicable violations based on scaffold type, task performed, and mechanism of injury.
- Track and manage complex discovery demands across primary and third-party defendants with precision.
- Prepare litigation files for summary judgment motions, depositions, and trial—with real litigation in mind.
- Operate independently and think tactically.
General Duties Also Include:
- Drafting pleadings, subpoenas, discovery responses, and motion papers.
- Scheduling IMEs, depositions, and coordinating litigation milestones.
- Regular collaboration with attorneys, experts, and clients to advance case strategy.
Requirements:
- 5 years of plaintiff’s litigation experience, with demonstrated Labor Law (240/241) proficiency.
- Strong command of CPLR, NYS court procedures, and NYSCEF.
- SmartAdvocate or similar case management system experience preferred.
- Ability to manage a heavy caseload independently and anticipate next steps in litigation.
