The location in Sanford, FL, is seeking talent to fill the position of Human Resources Generalist. This job is a full-time and on site.
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Primary Purpose of Function: This position has overall responsibility for all human resources functions of the Sanford facility, to include but not limited to: staffing, recruiting (includes close work with Temp agencies, after hours, etc.), benefits administration, developing and recommending to management personnel actions, employee relations, organizational assessment, advises on HR and employment issues to management, and ensures compliance by the company on all applicable federal, state and local labor laws. Reporting Relationships Reports to: Company HR Manager and Sanford General Manager Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the HR Generalist include, but are not limited to the following: Consults company leadership in areas related to employment policies and procedures, benefits administration, diversity, employee morale, local, state and federal employment regulations. Responsible for all aspects of HR functional areas including HR operations; employee relations; employment/staffing and recruitment; compensation; benefits; training and development; and company sponsored programs. Partner with the Sanford plant management team to assist in optimizing people resources, processes and culture, and to facilitate the delivery of all needed HR services. When needed, work with the Temp agencies to have adequate coverage of skilled temporary employees on a short notice/short term basis. Must negotiate with Agencies for the best rates, terms and early hiring deals. Ensure compliance and consistency in Sanford with corporate and HR related policies. In the role of employee relations, this position acts as management's representative to employees as well as employee's representative to management, acting as an advocate for employees. Interface with all levels of the organization and constantly coordinate with other members of the overall organization. Serve as a mediator in employee complaints and through problem solving and investigation, resolves issues raised by employees and managers and documents the outcome. Responsible for recruiting for staff at Sanford facility, develops recruiting plans and strategies and leads the recruitment process. Coordinate and deliver training to management on HR related activities (e.g., salary planning, harassment, affirmative action, development centers, policies, new employee orientation, employee motivation survey, ethics reporting, outplacement, etc.). Manages the training and development plans for employees on specific training to address the needs of Sanford facility. Develop new job descriptions and work closely with management to evaluate the positions. Measures of Performance: Providing management effective and useful advice on HR policies, regulations and needs. Meeting all recruitment and staffing objectives for time to place, etc. Maintaining clear, effective and open communication with all employees and management. Effective new hire on-boarding as measured by < 90-day new employee % Turn-over. Effective communication and cooperation with other functional departments. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: This position requires detailed and extensive knowledge in the following areas:
i. Human Resource practices, generalist in all areas for manufacturing, applicable government rules and regulations of employment laws and practices.
ii. Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes, methods, esp. paper converting processing and mfg. processes a plus.
iii. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, esp. plant workers, applicants, candidates on company policies and practices to address employment issues and complaints, as well as governmental authorities on company compliance issues.
iv. Ability to work with employees and management to resolve employment practices issues.
v. Knowledge of and ability to effectively administer employment benefits, insurance, industry policies and practices, etc.
vi. Knowledge of current government EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and other applicable laws and regulations.

- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resource management is preferred or equivalent experience, at least 5 years’ experience in the field.
- Work Environment: This position will work primarily both in an office environment and the production areas, warehouses, of the plant where the working conditions will be variable with temperature extremes, high noise, particulate matter, dust, etc. are common and expected.
