Job Title: Vice President of Real Estate Development - Remote Role

Job Overview

We are an esteemed healthcare organization collaborating with 15 health systems across the United States to pioneer a hybrid Emergency Room and Urgent Care model. With a robust pipeline of additional partnerships on the horizon, we are in search of a Vice President of Real Estate Development to spearhead our rapid expansion. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Development, this pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of site selection, development, construction, and asset management, while also devising and executing innovative real estate strategies. The ideal candidate is an accomplished leader with a demonstrated history of cultivating and guiding high-performance teams while managing a substantial and expanding portfolio in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Real Estate development for a pipeline exceeding 60 de novo sites.
  • Successfully navigate intricate partner health system leadership teams and their approval processes.
  • Lead the team in achieving ambitious budgets and timelines concerning design, development, and construction.
  • Collaborate with real estate analytics and leadership teams to pinpoint new markets and submarkets for growth.
  • Ensure the successful launch of new ER/Urgent Care facilities.
  • Review and authorize all real estate actions pertaining to new deals.
  • Manage equipment procurement alongside ongoing service initiatives.
  • Engage with various functional areas throughout the organization, including finance, legal, implementation, and operations.
  • Maintain accountability for team performance through consistent reporting of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to foster the growth of future leaders within the team.
  • Formulate, articulate, and implement a visionary approach for achieving the next level of success within your areas of responsibility.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and propose strategies for capacity expansion and significant growth.
  • Oversee the creation and presentation of deal memos, proformas, and relevant presentations.
  • Strategically position the portfolio for sustained profitability and market share growth.
  • Monitor site performance and implement continuous enhancements to optimize productivity, profitability, and service quality.
  • Keep key stakeholders updated through the preparation of materials for Board of Directors meetings, Real Estate Committee meetings, and ad-hoc analyses for investors and Board members.

Required Skills

  • Preferred Master’s degree in areas such as MBA, healthcare management, or real estate.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a strategic, senior leadership position.
  • Proven expertise in management and leadership within a relevant real estate context (e.g., retail or multi-site healthcare).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong prioritization abilities, and high emotional intelligence to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • A capable leader who can inspire, guide, and motivate both direct reports and indirect resources.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to forge relationships and achieve collective objectives among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of recruiting, retaining, and developing a robust real estate team.
  • Proficiency in managing a substantial pipeline and portfolio.
  • Ability to adeptly handle competing priorities in a high-growth environment.
  • Executive presence and effective communication skills across various organizational levels, including Executive Leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Capacity to excel in a complex, fast-paced, and high-pressure growth environment.
  • A strong collaborative partner to the business, Executive Team, and key internal stakeholders.
  • Aptitude for establishing and maintaining strong partner relationships.
