What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Liberty Landscape Supply?
Company Objective: At Liberty Landscape Supply (LLS) our goal is to be the best landscape supply company in the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia area as measured by customer retention, satisfaction, overall customer and organizational growth, and by meeting and exceeding customer expectations every single day.
Although not completely inclusive, the main responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist are:
- Managing vendor transactions and vendor relationships
- Receiving, reviewing, and verifying invoices for accuracy, including pricing, quantities, and purchase order matching.
- Matching received quantities to invoiced receiving and price matching to each purchase order, which currently reside in multiple systems (Aspire and CIN7, our inventory management system)
- Data entry of invoices into the accounting system, currently QuickBooks Desktop
- Maintaining vendor information in the Account system, addressing payment inquiries and resolving billing issues. Vendor information includes current W9 and Certificate of Insurance (for non-plant vendors)
- May run some general office errands including bank deposits, post office, supply pickup, etc.
- Preparing and submitting vendor payments according to established payment terms
- Reconciling vendor statements with internal records to identify discrepancies and resolve issues quickly
- Tracking and analyzing spending patterns to identify potential cost saving opportunities
- Communicate professionally with coworkers and vendors
- Solves problems to the best of your ability as they arise. There are not many emergencies in this business so many situations need to be dealt with reasonably until they can be discussed with management and a permanent solution can be established. Most important, if you’re not sure, ask and never be afraid to tell the vendor or coworker you don’t know but will find the answer for them.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality of company production procedures and financial figures, including our cost, profit margins and gross sales. Violation of this policy is subject to immediate termination.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
