What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Administrator position at Metric Engineering?
We are seeking a Project Administrator to support our ITS CEI team in Central Florida. Experience as a Project Administrator for the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) and/or the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is highly desirable. Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is preferred but not required. A college degree in Civil Engineering plus four (4) years of engineering experience in construction of major road or bridge structures, or for non-degreed eight (8) years of responsible and related construction engineering and inspection experience. The right candidate should have experience managing a contract and support staff to include the contract support specialist, inspectors, and should have most, if not all, of the below qualifications and certifications.
Day-to-Day:
- Monitoring project construction progress by supervising and receiving pay item data from inspection staff, then developing both monthly and final estimate payment packages.
- Directs and assigns specific tasks to administrative staff, Contract Support Specialists and Inspectors
- Assists in all phases of construction projects to include exercising initiative and independent judgment in solution of work problems
- Reviewing inspection Daily Work Reports, approving estimates, utilizing FDOT PrC, entering data in the Materials Acceptance Certification system, and writing monthly CFX/FDOT status reports
- Managing construction contracts, responsible for taking ownership of the entire project completion process from planning and conducting the pre-construction conference to final acceptance
