What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Ministry Associate - Community Engagement Blankenbaker position at Southeast Christian Church?
Our vision as a church is to "Unleash the Full Force of the Church to Love People One at a Time." The Ministry Associate will play a crucial role in fulfilling this vision at our Blankenbaker campus by unleashing congregants to serve in the church, in the community and around the world. This role will also have an active part in managing the benevolence ministry, and organizing impactful outreach events. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for service, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Unleashing People to Serve:
- In The Church | Campus Ministries: Create pathways for members to be equipped and unleased to serve within the church in campus-based ministries (SE!KIDS, Connections, Safety & Security, etc). The role will take the lead on promoting, managing, and teaching our “Unleashed Class.”
- In The Community | Local Ministry Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with local organizations. Coordinate volunteer efforts, ensuring our congregation meets the needs of the local community effectively.
- Around the World | International Ministry Partnerships: Organize and facilitate 3-4 international mission trips with current SE missions’ partners
2. Benevolence:
- Oversee benevolence in your area of ministry, which provides financial and material assistance to those in need within the church and community.
- Assess needs and allocate resources in a compassionate and fair manner.
- Maintain records of benevolence requests and support provided, ensuring accountability and transparency.
3. Campus Outreach Events:
- Work with Campus Pastor, Ministry Leaders, and volunteers to plan and execute outreach events that engage the community.
- Develop strategies for effective outreach, focusing on opportunities that encourage the community to engage with the Blankenbaker Campus
- Oversee the logistics of events, including scheduling, promotion, volunteer coordination, and follow-up.

- Communication: Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong public speaking skills.
- Tech-Savvy: Skilled in utilizing digital tools and software to coordinate people, processes, and events, proficient in managing emails, phone calls, calendars, correspondence, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
Our Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Ministry or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of ministry experience.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire volunteers.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
