What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern, Baseball Operations – 12U National Team position at USA Baseball?
As the Baseball Operations Intern for the 12U National Team, you will report to the Director, 12U National Team, and play an integral role in supporting USA Baseball’s elite youth programs. USA Baseball utilizes various events to construct the 12U National Team roster, including the 10U Futures Invitational, 11U Futures Invitational, and National Team Identification Series (NTIS). The Futures Invitationals are elite youth baseball tournaments exclusively reserved for the best 10U and 11U teams featuring the top youth talent in the nation. Your work will include managing administrative tasks, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring smooth operations for the Futures Invitationals. You will also assist with travel, meals, and equipment needs for players and coaches while supporting other organizational events as needed.

POSITION DETAILS
- Full-time hours (40 hours/week)
- Part-time hours April – May 15; Full-time hours May 15 – July 31 (flexible start and end date)
- On-Site Hybrid
- Based in Cary, NC and primarily works events uses a flexible workspace in office as needed
- Domestic travel involved in this position (all travel costs covered by USA Baseball)

IN THIS ROLE
- You will assist the Director, 12U National Team on administrative daily tasks and direct day-to-day operations of all 12U National Team programming including team travel, team meals, and equipment.
- You will serve as a key liaison to the 10U and 11U Futures Invitational coaches, facilitating clear communication and support.
- You will provide administrative support for the Futures Invitational including, but not limited to, gathering roster and insurance information, communicating with programs via phone and email, and fielding questions about the event.
- You will collaborate with USA Baseball staff to assist with event management, pre-event and on-site communication, and other tournament related needs.
- You will conduct online and on-site registration for all 12U National Team identification events.
- You will assist with all administrative and operational needs for 12U National Team Training Camp and Training, including but not limited to meals, travel, and laundry.
- You will support other USA Baseball events and departments by performing various administrative and operational duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You are highly organized with attention to detail and a passion for baseball operations.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, with professional communication skills.
- You are flexible and willing to take on non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
- You are available to travel with the 12U National Team during June/July and can lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- You are in pursuit of or have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
- You can successfully complete a background check prior to employment.
